Miridian

The kingdom of Miridian is in the valley of a mountain range. The proximity of the mountains is what aided the Miridians' ancestors to survive and successfully fight off creatures like ogres and dragons. It took hundreds of years for the kingdom to be built.

What protects Miridian is a magic empowered stone that creates a magical barrier, preventing magical creatures from getting in. There is also a hundred foot wall built from the stone that came from the nearby mountains. Determined human hybrids can get in, however, due to medallions that cloak their magical side from the barrier's detection.

These hybrids are often Fae-humans from the Seelie Kingdom who try to find new homes. Some of them desire to live on the Zarell's planet because it is more rampant with magic than Earth. However, only a few ever make it to places like Miridian due to the harsh wilderness. These hybrids are called Faeborn by the Miridians.

Meanwhile, there are Miridians who wish to leave the kingdom because they dislike their current governmental system. But due to fear and the threat of wildlife and magic, they have to compromise by building communities along the Miridian wall. The magical barrier is extended past the boundaries of the wall, creating a space where these communities can be built and be protected.

The kingdom is both for and against the establishment of the outside villages. In the pursuit of expansion, the kingdom uses the villages as experiments to see how far they can push the kingdom's boundaries. However, these villages are built by citizens dissatisfied with their government.
